Drakes HCL - Corona Virus and its implications for 2020

The Covid – 19 virus situation and its very fast evolving developments and implications for society in general, including sporting activities and organisations, is creating a great deal of uncertainty about the future.

The League are currently considering the implications of this situation and what decisions and steps may be necessary in the relation to the upcoming cricket season. The league are currently consulting with relevant parties including the cricket authorities in this regard. Big decisions that would have serious implications for cricket in Huddersfield over the coming months cannot be ruled out.

The League will inform all clubs once consultations and deliberations have been completed. We expect this to be within the next several days.

In the meantime all clubs should carefully consider their overseas player arrangements and commitments which may well be affected by both travel restrictions and possible decisions which the League may need to make as referred to above.

Finally, in the circumstances both the League Council meeting and the League Executive Committee meeting timetabled for Wednesday April 1st at Elland are being cancelled.

The League will keep all clubs informed about developments and decisions as promptly and clearly as possible.

Administration Secretary
